CineDuo ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy
explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the
"App").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our core features: Blind
Rating, Matching, and Notified Interactions.
A. Account Information (Sign In with Apple)
When you create an account using Sign In with Apple, we receive:
- Name: As provided by Apple (which you can choose to hide or edit).
- Email Address: As provided by Apple. (If you choose "Hide My Email," we receive a
private relay email address).
- Apple User ID: A unique identifier to recognize your account.
B. Usage Data (Core Features)
To enable the App's functionality, we collect and store:
- Movie & Series Ratings: Your scores (0-10) for content.
- Watchlist Items: Content you save to watch later.
- Matches: Records of content both you and your partner have liked.
- Partner Connection: The link between your account and your partner's account.
C. Device Information (Notifications)
To send you push notifications (e.g., "It's a Match!", "Ratings Revealed"), we collect:
- Push Notification Token: A unique token generated by Expo and
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) for your specific device.
D. Transaction Data (In-App Purchases)
If you purchase a premium subscription, limited transaction details are processed:
- Payment Information: Handled directly by Apple App Store. We
do not store your credit card or bank details.
- Purchase History: We store the status of your subscription (e.g., "Active", "Expired")
to unlock premium features.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data solely for the following purposes:
- To Provide Core Features:
- Blind Rating: We store your ratings securely and only reveal them to your
partner after they have also rated the same content.
- Matching: We compare your "likes" with your partner's to identify matches.
- Shared Watchlist: We display items added by you or your partner in a shared
list.
- To Send Notifications:
- We use your Push Token to notify you about partner activities (e.g., new ratings, new matches,
watchlist additions).
- To Improve the App:
- We may analyze aggregated, anonymized data to understand popular features (e.g., "Most matched
movie this week").
3. Data Storage and Security
All user data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL database).
- Security: We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure that your data is only
accessible by you and your connected partner. No other user can access your personal ratings or matches.
- Location: Data is hosted in secure data centers compliant with industry standards.
- Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest where applicable.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with trusted third-party services only as necessary to operate the App:

5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as your account is active.
- Ratings & Matches: Stored until you delete your account or manually remove them.
- Push Tokens: Updated automatically; invalid tokens are removed.
If you delete your account, all your personal data (profile, ratings, matches, couple connection) is
permanently deleted from our database immediately.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & KVKK Compliance)
Under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and KVKK (Law on Protection of Personal Data), you have the
right to:
- Access Your Data: You can view your profile, ratings, and matches directly within the
App.
- Rectify Your Data: You can update your profile name or avatar at any time.
- Delete Your Data (Right to be Forgotten):
- You can delete your account directly inside the App (Settings > Delete
Account).
- This action is irreversible and removes all your data from our servers.
- Withdraw Consent: You can disable Push Notifications at any time through your device
settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable
information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from
children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our
servers.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new
Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
